How is the Mira Cortisol different from a DUTCH test?Updated 3 hours ago
DUTCH measures free cortisol, free cortisone, and cortisol metabolites across four or five timed dried-urine samples by mass spectrometry, creatinine-corrected and reported against population ranges, with an optional saliva add-on for the awakening response.
Mira measures one analyte (free cortisol) by immunoassay on a liquid spot sample, without creatinine correction, and reports it against the patient's own baseline.
The two are built for different jobs: DUTCH is a point-in-time clinical assessment; Mira is a longitudinal wellness signal within one person. If a patient's DUTCH and Mira results appear to disagree, that is expected given the different analytes, methods, and timescales, and the clinical test is the one to interpret clinically.
